Today India celebrated its 63rd independence day. Glorious independence day celebrations were organized in the district capital. Hon. Excise minister Shri. P K Gurudasan hoisted the flag in Vazhathope school ground and accepted salute from the parade. Various units of police, NCC, scouts and guides and civilians participated in the parade. District collector, Police Superintendent, MP and other respected personalities were present.
Minister delivered his Independence Day speech. Later medals were presented to police and excise officers and trophies were given to parade teams. A large number of local people and journalists witnessed the grand proceedings.
